Industrial Housing

Industrial revolution and port sunlight housing.jpg

It is well known that during the Industrial revolution the housing provided for the workers was poor and undesirable for most. Unfortunately, people were unable to afford better housing therefore the houses were inhabited out of necessity.

Port Sunlight provided an alternative model which provided a more vernacular aesthetic.

Referring to the known number of populations, with Liverpool having 400,000 people and Port Sunlight 1450 people. And then taking the populations, Port sunlight of 56 acres and Liverpool at estimated 13,959 acres. You will end up with nearly the same population densities for both at 0.036 people per acre.
